LECTURE

Lecture 1 : Introduction to the module 
03/04/19 (Week 1)
In the first class, Ms Lilian started off the class by giving us a brief on the module outline as well as explaining on what we will be doing in the upcoming weeks.

Lecture 2 : History of Brand
10/03/19 (Week 2)
This week, we were given a short lecture about the history of brand. It is said that brands have been around for a long time and they were used centuries ago as an identifier for ownership. However, the emergence of brands in the commercial world is said to be after the industrial revolution. Through the presentation slides, we also got see the different stages of brand development and some examples of brands.

PROJECT 1A
Presentation (Week 1 - Week 2)

Week 1 - Week 2 (03/04/19 - 10/04/19)
For our first project, we were required to prepare a presentation based on the three questions given. Also, we have to do a case study for a well-established brand by studying and analysing their background, logo, brand identity ideals, colours and more. We were given one week to prepare and the presentation was expected to be concise and easy to understand.

FEEDBACK

Week 2
General Feedback : Everyone did quite well in the presentation, but it would be good that if we add in more visuals to the slides since we need to have more visual references as our inspirations.
Specific Feedback : I received the feedback that my presentation was quite well eventhough I'm scare to present. It was good that I manage to share some findings verbally, but it would be better if I add all those information into the slides.



REFLECTION

Experiences : It's a busy week and I did not manage to plan my time well so I ended up prepare the presentation one day before the class. Hence, there is limited time for me to do research as well as getting more information for the case study. However, this project still gives a great opportunity for me to understand more about branding.

Observations : While preparing for the presentation, I was a bit confused which part of the study should I include in the slides and it took me a while to think of it. As for the presentation, I realised that I'm more comfortable with informal presentation rather than the formal one. Although I was a bit nervous, but I still manage to complete it.

Findings :  From this project, I manage to understand and differentiate brands, branding and brand identity better than before. Also, I found out how important branding is in marketing as it will affect the perception of the consumers towards your brand and helps to set you apart from the competitors. With all the knowledges gain through this project, I think they would be helpful for me in completing the future projects.
