LECTURE
Lecture 5 : Critical Review & Library Workshop
25/09/18 (Week 5)
This week, Ms. Hayati gave us a lecture on critical review as well as to brief us on our next project which is research. We were required to select some journal articles that related to our research topic and come out with a critical review. She explained to us that critical review is basically a summary of an article based on our analysis and evaluation. We need to critically evaluate them but we have to understand it at the same time. We were suggested to look at the synopsis and abstract first then jump to the conclusion to see what is the article all about. Besides that, we were also told to look at the main keyword to check whether the structure and content of the article is relevant to us. Before starting to write, we have to start looking for the articles to compare and contrast them so that we will have a lot of ideas to support our research.

Lecture 6 : Research Strategy & Structure of Critical Review
02/10/18 (Week 6)
This week, we got a lecture on research strategy in which we discussed about the two types research method that we could use to conduct our research. After that, Ms Jinchi explained what we were expected to do for our project 2 again as well as the structure of writing it. Some references were also uploaded on TIMES, so that we can use it as a guide to start our critical reviews. Later on, we were told to find minimum 5 of the articles and start critic one of them by the end of this class.

Lecture 7 : Submission for Research
09/10/18 (Week 7)
We did not have any lecture today but we were having a one to one consultation with our lecturers to get some feedbacks for our second project.

Week 5 (25/09/18)
This week, we were required to select some journal articles as our secondary research and reviewed them critically. We were told that it would be good if we have compilation of the articles and completed first draft by next week class. I face difficulties when writing for my first draft since I don't know what to include in it. Hence, I look back at the lecture slides as my guide to write.

Week 6 (02/10/18)
In this week class, Ms Jinchi explained to us again on the requirements for this project with more details. We were told that the article chosen have to be a research paper which included abstract and methodology. Moreover, she asked us to look for the keywords from the paper to see whether it is relevant to our research topic. For citation, we were required to use Harvard style instead of APA. References were also uploaded on TIMES as the guide which I think is quite useful for me. By next week, we would need to submit 10 completed critical reviews. However, I only managed to complete 5 of it and here is the draft for what I have done below.

This week will be the deadline for our second project and we got to have a short consultation with Ms. Jinchi in the tutorial class. I did received some useful feedbacks to improve for what I have done as well as having a clearer direction to complete the rest of them. Since most of us haven't complete all 10 critical reviews, the deadline were then extend to Friday night.

FEEDBACK
Week 5 : No feedback given since the brief just given this week.
Week 6 : After looking at the article that I found, Ms Jinchi asked me to ensure all of them included methodology as we would need to critic it later on. I was also told that I could actually find the articles that relevant to my research topic instead of to be the same.
Week 7 : In the tutorial class, I got to show one of my essay to Ms Jinchi for some feedbacks. I was told that I should used the surname instead of name when mentioning the name of the authors. Besides that, I would also need to include my opinions with some explanations when critic the article.
Overall, the essay structure seems to be okay but I have to check on my grammar mistakes and sentence structure.
